ok, here is the thing i have my PowerBook hooked up to my Mac directly through an Eithernet cord (i dont have a router) i have turned on Personal File Sharing and Windows web sharing on the PB but it shows up on my PC as Limited or no connectivity.

so basically how do i make it so that i can share files on my Mac with my PC and vice versa

I don't believe it actually needs to be a crossover cable. I've connected to my PC from my mac with a standard cable before without any problems.

The Mac has an ethernet port in it that will crossover the signal when needed whether its a Mac or a PC on the other end.
