Alright, so my Mac App Store.app is really starting to get annoying. It says I have an update for Twitter available, but I don't have Twitter installed. At all. I deleted all of its files (including the plists and stuff) using AppCleaner. So yeah, I did all that and guess what, it still says I have an update available, and since it says I have an update available, it shows a little icon in my dock above the Mac App Store icon and it's quite annoying to have to look at it when I don't even have the Twitter.app installed at all on my MBA. I've tried installing the update so that Twitter reinstalls on my MBA and then removing it again with AppCleaner, no dice. Tried to install Twitter.app and then update it, no dice.

Also, I just realized that even when I download the Twitter.app and update it by clicking on the "Update" button, it will download the update, and then when I launch Twitter.app and go to "About Twitter" it says I'm on version 2.1. The latest version is 2.1. Guess what? The Mac App Store is STILL telling me I have to update my Twitter.app to 2.1 EVEN THOUGH IT'S ALREADY UPDATED TO 2.1.

What am I supposed to do? This is starting to get really annoying now.

Delete the pirated copy of angry birds you've installed using the twitter hack, and the problem goes away. I suspect this thread is going to be awfully quiet now.

I don't even have Angry Birds installed as I think it is an extremely boring and pointless game, so I have no idea what you're talking about. Also, I don't even use the Twitter.app client, I use Twitterific and I paid for it with my own money, not using some cheap hack. Stop making assumptions.

My fault, then, but did you install any app via the app store hack? Search around, you will see the twitter update issue happened to those that used twitter to bypass paying for apps.

No I honestly haven't. I'm not like that.
