So I was going thru the notification center settings, and I couldnt see and figure out how to get updates notification from the mac app store!

Am I doing something wrong, or it is not available yet?

I haven't received one notification yet and I only get notified in the app after I launch it. This is on a clean install.

At the alternatives section.
i'm almost positive your mac checks for updates only once a week. if you open the appstore it will check for updates (manual way of doing it) but otherwise if you want to make sure it works perhaps dont open your appstore every day if you dont have to and if there is an update, you will be notified at some point during the week.

System updates will appear in NC. Normal app updates will not.
This isn't true - I received a notification about an update for an app (MacTracker) that I had downloaded through the Mac App Store. That was the only notification that I've received thus far, though; I haven't received notifications about other apps or system updates. I thought it was supposed to check daily. I figure that at the moment there aren't any updates available; whenever I do check manually and there are updates, I assume that I just got to them before the automatic checking did.

I'm running on a "standard" account for security purposes (instead of my administrative account). I still had to enter my administrative credentials when opening the Mac App Store to check for updates.
