Mac automatically converts PDFs,PNGs,TIFFs to JPEGs when saved to desktop

Hey All,
The issue I have is that anytime I save a graphic document like a PDF to my desktop, it automatically converts to a jpeg. It also does it with other image formats too, such as png, tiff, etc. It has been doing it for a while, way back since Snow Leopard, maybe even before that, I can't remember, and has stayed with every OS upgrade I've done since, now I'm at High Sierra. I have another 5,1 Mac Pro, with clean install and have never had that issue with it's OS's from Snow Leopard to High Sierra on that machine. I've googled the heck out of it, and can't find anything. If anyone has a remedy without a complete wipe and clean install, please let me know.

To turn off Folder Actions:
Right click on the desktop folder in finder (find the folder by using Go > Home or Go > iCloud Drive)
Choose Folder Actions Setup...
Uncheck Enable Folder Actions

Hey Shanert, thanks for replying. Just finished a rather long text exchange with friend that does Mac IT, we narrowed it down to a Folder Action, so you are correct. I must have accidentally saved the action by selecting the wrong thing in the side panel of the Automator app. I just opened the Folder Actions Setup app and voila, there it was. Again, thanks for the reply. And yes, this has been running on my mac for over a FRICKEN DECADE!
