Ok, I am new to MAC and OSX. I moved from Windows 2 weeks ago.
I have a Retina Macbook Pro 15". I use Parallels VM, and I usually work with external monitors both at home and at my office. Last night I put the computer to sleep and unplugged all the cables. I just got to my office now, plugged in the cables, and turned the system on. I got a message indicating that the computer was shut down and restarted. Then came a message very similar to Windows style messages that basically mean nothing to the averga e person. "Your computer was restarted because of a problem". Whatever that means.
Here is the details that it gave me. Any ideas what might have caused it?

What is jp.plentycom.driver.SteerMouse?

This isn't an Apple product, I suspect you may have installed some hardware that has software that isn't compatible with the current release of OS X. Remove that product and following the developer's instructions uninstall the application and either update it to a release intended for Mt. Lion or replace it with and ap p that is. Also, did you upgrade your RAM?? If so then you may have a RAM issue which would be one of three issues:

1. Incorrect RAM
2. Failed RAM (yes RAM can and does fail)
3. Unseated RAM (Remove and reseat)

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I did not upgrade my RAM. I bought it with 16GB direct from Apple. It is the Retina model, and I couldn't even upgrade it if I wanted to since the RAM is soldered on. So its definitely not the RAM.

Steermouse is software that I got from here: http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/
It is designed to make the mouse respond much better and be more customizable. I read a lot of good reviews about it before I installed it.

You can either stick with that program and see if it happens again, or try out bettertouchtool. It's free and does pretty much exactly the same thing. I've had no problems with it in the past.

Any third-party kexts such as these at the top of the crash log are the first thing to rule out. Uninstall them, and then see if you still get the problem.
It's a pretty high bet that one (or a combination) of these is causing your kernel panics.

I'm a rolling stone.
And I think it's the finder which crashed together with maybe the USB drivers, you say you unplugged cables, did you do this safe?

But, if this happens only once or 2 it's no buggy, it sometimes happens as others said.
