mac book battery issues

hey all, i'm on my macbook, 1.83/ (stock until i can scrounge up a small screwdriver to add in a gig of ram), but i just unplugged the computer, and the battery meter has an X on it. i clicked it and it said that i had no battery connected. i restarted, but it says the same thing. any thoughts?

should i check anything else?

Try re-installing. Make sure you back up first.

i shut down, took out the battery, plugged the magsafe in, put the battery back in (after blowing on it nintendo style) and restarted


and now it works, all swell and everything
