i just got a voicemail from my buddy who i convinced last month to buy a mac. he got a mbp core duo.
he says he was sitting in class with the mbp plugged in when he ... and the other hundred people around him started to smell something terrible. within a minute or so the mbp was actually smoking he says.
in between classes he went to the apple store just down the street and says he was flipping out and they replaced it with a brand new one (core 2 duo top of the line, since he had a top of the line core duo).
well, i just hope this was a fluke doesnt mean another recall for apple
and sorry, i dont have any pics or anything.. he laughed at me like i was crazy when i asked.
but for those of you with core duo mbp, keep your eyes (an nose) open for anything out of the ordinary.
