Hi there thought I would share the quality that is Mac customer service.....

4 months ago I was brought for work the 15" Mac book pro C1D, it had all the toys and was a joy to use, I had banished the dell rubbish from my desktop and it went really well with my 24" Dell (ok not that rubbish) tft screen....even the IT manger was impressed with the beast!

Then suddenly at the weekend my machine died :-( it would only boot up for 2-3mins and then lock, even my boot-camp and reFit set up went the way of space-hoppers and shell suits.

As you could tell I was hart broken and slightly pissed off, it was only 4 months old and I feared the dreaded 14 days or more of apple repair messing it up and having to dig that P4 dell out of the cupboard and using it again.

So this morning with a heavy hart I went to regent street apple store in London (I work 5mins away) and went to the genius bar and explained that my Mac had died, and then with out a shadow of doubt they turned round to me and said no problem we will replace it right now for you with the brand new C2D version of your machine (top of the line 15", I think the whole 17" version is a silly idea) anyway I was shocked and had to ask the guy there to repeat the answer and yet again it came back the same, so here I am now typing away on my lovely new Mac book pro with everyone in the office looking at me with that lucky g*t look....he he

I give Mac service 10 out of 10 and also they were the most helpful bunch of people i have ever met......

Many thanks Apple my Christmas money is yours!!!

That's awesome  I'd have thought you'd have had to deal with a repair, but to just offer a new system straight away is just awesome. Enjoy your new machine :)

Similar story with my girlfriends iPod. Apple Customer Services shipped her a brand new spangly 30GB model (gratis) to replace the one she dropped in the bath a couple of weeks ago. I was shocked and amazed considering the damage caused was entirely her own fault.

They obviously didnt realize it was caused by water damage lol... either that or they dont even bother to check :D

They've been good with me too, I currently have 2 core 2 MBP's, they don't seem that bothered about taking one back either. Not that I really have anything to do with 2 but it makes me look cool.
Unfortunately I have to use the phone because the regent st mac shop makes me want to kill things every time I get near it. Its hideous. Is that arse DJ always in there?

I've had real problems getting my Mac fixed up at the Regent street store :(

My 2.0 Core Duo MB has a really tempermental trackpad, which seems to become very unresponsive for a few minutes at a time several times per day, and I was told down the phone to take it into Regent Street to get it patched up.

I went, but was told that I needed to book a Genius appointment, which I can understand, but none were available. I've tried to book appointments very early in the morning online, but they're just never available  I've only been trying on Saturdays and Sundays, since weekdays just arn't practical.

Any suggestions on how to get the Genius appointments?
