My internal macintosh drive (1 tb ssd ) is showing 513 gb free and 502 gb used.

When I look at the contents of Macintosh drive I see 4 folders: Applications (25.7), Library 11.25, Users (215.54) and System (17.74). Totalling 270.23 Gb.used.

So I have a difference (missing) of 232 gb. used that I can’t see in the 4 folders above.

Am I doing something wrong or is it hidden?

I use carbon copy cloner to copy my external drives which contain photographic files.

Cheers

Open Disk Utility. In the upper left corner of the window is a dropdown menu labeled View. Click on it and select the option Show all Devices.

However, if you want to see all of the hidden partitions then open Terminal in the Utilities folder. At the prompt enter diskutil list, which will display all of the partitions on all of your connected drives.
