Mac equivalent to Notepad++ with Split Lines feature (Control-I)

I need a Mac text editor for one purpose, which is the split-lines feature in Notepad++.

The idea is, you insert a mass of text -- select how wide you want it to be -- type Control-I -- and the app inserts line breaks throughout the text accordingly.

I'm looking for a free Mac text editor that has this feature.

Any suggestions?

I found that BBEdit has this feature (hard wrap command) although I hope the above feature is part of the free edition.
