I have 2Tb of iCloud storage. On my MacBook I have 500GB. I keep getting "Mac storage is full" messages which keeps me from getting any work done. With Optimize Mac Storage on, shouldn't Mac automatically "throttle" what's on my MacBook so I can keep using it?
In System Prefs, it shows:
Macintosh HD 418GB (403GB documents)
iCloud Drive 379GB
App 34GB
Mail 17GB
There are files that I cannot access on my MacBook which I need. I went to iCloud.com thinking I could download the Desktop and Documents folder and store it elsewhere to make room on my Mac, but I found that only individual files (and not folders) can be downloaded. I cannot spend the next 3 days searching and downloading files one by one!
I hope I don't have to buy a new Mac with 2TB of storage, the same as my iCloud storage to get things to work seamlessly as I assumed it's supposed to!
How can I get my Mac to work again? Any insights greatly appreciated.
