OK I am at my wits end. My trusty Mac is now dropping the Internet connection. I have checked the lines, router, cable modem. I have hooked my Dell laptop up to the same router and lines and had no problems using the Internet. Also, I even took the Mac to a friends house and it even did it there. I even formatted the computer and installed Panther thinking it was Tiger and it was not. In addition, the fan will sometimes make a strange sound. Am I slowly experiencing hardware failure?

It is a Mac G4 Dual 867 Mhz, 60GB HD, 1GB of RAM, Superdrive, has all software updates and is spotless on the inside.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

your probably over heating causing network problems because of the fan or your network card is bad or both.
