The idea here is to get as many people as possible to get accurate FPSs and settings up for different games, and different machines. People can then come here and maybe get their questions answered, or post new questions.
I'll start with a few of MY benchmarks.
MY RIG: (not really a rig...)
CPU - Intel C2D 2.26Ghz w/3mb L2 shared Cache...
RAM - 4gb DDR3 1067mhz... (2x2)
GPU - Nvidia 9400M w 256mb VRAM
HDD - 250GB HDD w 5400RPM
Screen 1280x800 Glossy Apple Display
OS: Mac OSX 10.6.6
Starcraft 2:
All settings are on ultra, minus shaders which are on low (so are lighting and shadows). FPS max is around 52, and FPS minimum on 8v8 custom games is of course around 3-4. Average FPS during ladder is 34. Load times are quick.
Dragon Age: Origins:
All settings are on low, resolution is 800x600. FPS minimum is 0.4, maximum is about 26-27, average being about 9. Runs terribly and is such an inefficiently coded game.
UT2004:
Being an ancient game, I run it at around 70 FPS with manual AA and max settings + full res...
Halo: Combat Evolved: Runs at max settings with 8x AA at an average FPS of around 34...
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare:
Everything is on the normal or on setting. Resolution is 800x600. Average FPS is about 23. So much for running '2x better'
Neverwinter Nights 2: All settings maxed, I receive about 21 FPS average. On low, around 45 average.
Portal: Runs fine full settings and smooth FPS (don't remember FPS avg)
Dawn of War WH40K: Full settings max resolution get an avg FPS of around 25. Lower the details a tad bit and avg FPS goes to around 38.
Those are ma games. I intend to upgrade drastically to a Macbook Pro 15" with 2.3 i7, AMD 6750 1G, 8GB, 750GB HDD, and 1680x1050.
Love to hear some responses chaps!
