I have had an Imac for two days now.
Today while at the local Comu$a, my young son almost jumped out of his skin when he saw a New Pajama Sam game on the shelf. My kids have played them all on our old Mac for years. Imagine my disdain when I read the box only to find out this game is not for the Mac...only a "PC" ...further inspection to try and distract my son from his disappointment revealed that MOST of the software in the children's section would not work on a Mac. This is completely opposite from the way thing used to be. All kids games used to be dual-platform. I should have looked at this
before I jumped into a new Mac...I bought it primarily for my children <sigh>... anyone have any input on this? Does this have to do with X or developers not wanting to mess with such a small segment of the marketplace? I am really down about this. What is the point of having a Mac if you can not use MOST of the software out there on store's shelves.
I welcome all comments!

I've found that there is a lot of software oriented to children on the Mac. CompUSAs are hard to judge by since some stores royally suck when it comes to selection (even for PC software) while others are pretty decent. If you go into an Apple Store, there is literally a whole section devoted to children software and games. I'd suggest either that or going to Apple.com to check out what's listed on their website for ideas of what's out there. From there, you can either order online from any number of places, from Apple, or keep looking.
