Before anyone utters the cry of "Photoshop" it slows down my computer and is above me.

I simply want a program that will be able to create and edit images easily, and professionally.

Ok, what are you looking for, feature-wise? A photoshop alternative, or some more simple?

The Gimp is free and very powerful, but it isn't all that user friendly
It is the most "photoshop" like alternative other than Pixelmator (which is not free)

pixelmator has a 30 day free trail and after that you will want to take the plunge. personally i dont have a mac but thats what what we use at school unless we go on the imacs
