I purchased an app, downloaded it, but when I try to install it I get a message telling me I need Rosetta installed to install this app. However, I have checked the downloaded file in Finder/Get Info and it states the app is Universal.

What do I do to get past that Rosetta message, or to stop it from showing up on a Universal app install?

Some installers aren’t universal even if the app itself is. What app is it?

It is called Astro Gold. I have installed it on a different Mac without it asking me to run Rosetta. On that Mac I looked at the info (see attached) and it says Universal. Since it installed fine on one Mac (that has never had Rosetta on it) of the same type, and it asks for Rosetta on the other Mac, there must be something I can do for the second Mac. I notice on the app that is installed on the one Mac, there is an unticked box labeled Open using Rosetta.
Perhaps in the installer on the other Mac, is there something I can get into without too much trouble to check if it has an option like that which I can turn off?

Run Activity Monitor.app on the different Mac to see if it says the app or any other processes are Intel instead of Apple Silicon.

The app is Universal, the frameworks inside it are Intel (/Applications/Astro Gold.app/Contents/Frameworks/)

OP asks:
"What do I do to get past that Rosetta message, or to stop it from showing up on a Universal app install?"

Fishrrman answers:
Install Rosetta and be done with it.
Stop agonizing.
It won't hurt anything, and doesn't use much space.
