I recently did a clean install of 10.4, and ever since then, I've had a few gaming related problems.

I've been getting a crash randomly while either opening, or closing a game. At around the same time resolutions switch. During this time, I can't force quit anything, or eject a cd, or anything.. the OS is fully locked up.

My current hardware: pMac G5 - 1.8GHz SP, 1GB RAM, Radeon 9600 XT

I'm just looking for some other opinions, I'm thinking about replacing my video card, it's out of date anyway.

Don't use the game until they release a Tiger update. ;)

But if the system is crashing hard while using the game, you may want to doublecheck and run fsck or Disk First Aid.

Every now and then a hard crash will cause some file/catalog problems.

Especially if you are continually repeating the problem.

Most likely it's using a programing loophole that Apple shut to switch resolutions.

Apple made some changes in the OS that may break some kext files and kill some binary compatibility in Applications -- so they may need to fix some things and/or recompile with the updated libraries.

I've ran disk first aid, and it caught no errors.

Also, I'm having problems with every game I try. Which includes: World of Warcraft, Halo, etc.

I purchased a new ATi Radeon X800, and I still have the same problem. I may as well downgrade to 10.3?

or I could get out of the mac scene alltogether, hm!
