Click your APPLE menu
Click System Preferences
Click Accessibility
Click VoiceOver
Uncheck Enable Voiceover

The same thing happened to me when updating to PB5. And I mean right when updating, in the screen with the Apple logo and the progress bar. Really weird bug.

You may have accidentally turned it on. I think if you press shift or some other key, too many times it enables voice over in the installer.

I don't think its actually a bug, but a feature for blind people.

Yeah, I know how Voice Over works, but I didn't activate it. I wasn't even in front of the computer when it happened. In any case, the message that was read out loud didn't make any sense. It was the same that cammymoss described.
