Mac Mail and link opening in the background is not working

Does anyone can confirm that is able to open links in background?

Are you saying that if there is a link in an e-mail that clicking on the link does not open in web browser?

There is an item in the context menu "Open Link behind Mail". Which didn't work for a few version of macOS. In Catalina, however, this seem to work fine for me.
