Mac Mail Unable to Verify Error

I'm unable to set up Mac Mail on Catalina OS X because of the following error message:
"Unable to verify account name or password."

I have checked to ensure that the account name and password are correct and typed in correctly.
However, this error message continues to prevent me from setting up Mac Mail on Catalina OS X.

Thanks for any tips on how to overcome this error message.

Try removing @shaw.ca from your username
