Mac Mail V3 storing 100 GB mail in "Drafts Inbox" on hardrive

Hello, Did a Daisy search to see what was eating up all my Hard drive space and it is the Draft Inbox folder. It is only one of my several .mac email accounts that is doing this.

1. What caused this?
2. How do I prevent from happening again
3. Is it safe to delet the "Drafts INbox" folder that has all these stored email?

That doesn't sound good but don't delete anything until you've figured this out.

Do you mean inside the /Users/<you>/Library/Mail/V3/Mailboxes folder?

I have a Gmail Account, iCloud account and an Exchange account and don't see a "Drafts Inbox" folder anywhere in the entire Mail folder. Is is a "Drafts.mbox"?

Good. What kind of email account is it (Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, Office 365 etc.) and how is it configured (IMAP, POP or Exchange)?

In Mail, do you have any mailboxes under the heading "On My Mac"?
