Hello,

Searched in the forum, but couldn't see what I need...

I just bought a new base Mini with 2Gb RAM, and I'd like to speed it up a bit. I have iTunes open all the time, and the music stutters quite a bit while I'm in other apps - and I figure it is paging?

So I looked on Corsair, and it seems I can go to 8Gb for like £35, which seems a bit of a no-brainer....

Is it worth me spending more cash to go to 16Gb, or will I see a noticeable improvement with the above?

thank you

I upgraded from 8GB to 16GB (don't ask why!) and can detect no difference whatsoever, despite the 16GB ram being faster as well.

The difference from 2GB of RAM to 8GB will be monumentally huge. 8GB to 16GB? Almost no difference. Unless you intend to do some serious photo/video editing or perhaps music creation, you wont need more than 8GB. If you needed more than 8GB RAM then you've bought the wrong computer in all honesty.

Just out of interest, what is your video card memory with 16gb RAM? Mine jumped from like 284mb to 512mb when I jumped from 2-8gb.

OP I brought this RAM it worked a treat:

At the time I didn't know you could upgrade to faster 16gb memory though.

I was in the same boat as you, so I got this...

Runs a treat.

I didn't know you could put 16Gb in, I thought the Mini only took up to 8Gb.
