Mac Mini 2007 SSD

Theoretically any 2,5" SSD should work (SATA-3 is backwards compatible to SATA-1), however I've never put an SSD into my old mini. Regarding installation, there is an excellent guide on ifixit.com. Just be extra careful with any (flat band-)cables and you should be fine.

Edit:
To answer your question, changing the HD isn't harder than adding RAM.
