Im thinking of putting an SSD into my 3,1 Mac Mini, just had a few questions;
1. Is there any advantage of putting the SSD(boot drive) where the current HDD is over in the optical drive bay? (The install using one of these caddy's is marginally simpler, although I will also be replacing the RAM while in in there anyway)
OWC DDMMSSD240 DIY Kit: Data Doubler + 240GB... in stock at OWC
New Replacement 2nd HDD SSD Hard Drive Caddy Adapter SATA for Mac Mini late 2009 | eBay
^^^ is there any issue with this ebay caddy versus the OWC one?
2. I have been told the 3,1 Mini has had issues with 6 gbs SSD's and will only be able to use 3gbs SSD's. The reason I ask is some where down the line I may decide to put this drive into an MBP that I know will be able to take advantage of the 6Gb/s. Does any one know if the 6Gb/s SSD's are compatible with this iteration of the Mini?
Thanks!
