Hi guys,

Any Mac Mini 2011 owners here with FireWire enclosures? I seem to have this little annoying problem. The FW speed slows down to USB speed every time it wakes up from sleep.

E.g:
Fresh startup - FW speed 60MB/s [write] 80MB/s [read]
Wake from sleep: FW speed 40MB/s [write] 30MB/s [read]

Speeds are tested using AJA System Tools.

My Mac Mini specs:
2.5GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 with AMD HD6630M with OS Lion 10.7.2.

My FW enclosures:
OWC Mercury Elite Pro Qx2 with RAID 10
OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual mini with RAID 0

I tried tested both enclosures using my Macbook Pro 13" 2011 (with 10.7.2) but it doesn't seem to have this problem.

Any ideas? Help.

Is it still detecting the external device as FW800? Check the System Profiler. If you unplug the device and plug it back in, does it work correctly?

Yes. Even after plugging out, restarting the enclosure and plugging back in, the Mac Mini detects the enclosure.
