Mac Mini 2011 HDD spind down sound

Hi,

I finally got my mini last week and I installed it today.
Annoyingly, the HDD makes some strange spindown noise when going to sleep mode or when shutting down the machine.

It's like a little humming when you hear that the drive is shutting down.
Do somebody else have the same experience?

I fear I have to return the mini to the shop where I bought it.

i'd take it back for an exchange. Sounds like the drive is in the early stages of failing. The strange noise is the drives way of alerting you to impending doom.
