My new shiny Mac Mini 2011 Server arrived yesterday, along with a Crucial M4. I had a very difficult time getting the M4 to it into the top hard drive area (replaced one of the 500GB drives in there). No matter what I did, I could not get all the screws to realign. Looking at some of the guides on the net, it appears I should probably pull the LB out a little to get a better fit (plus I want to replace the bottom drive with a 1TB.

Anyone experience a similar situation?

I did kept the extra screws for safe keeping and did an inet Lion install.. everything is working fine, but it bugs me to no end the install wasn't cleaner.

The logic board must come out a bit in order to replace the bottom hard drive properly (bottom hard drive = drive closest to the RAM slot cover, or in other words, the 'lower bay'). To replace the upper bay hard drive requires full removal of the logic board, plus the power supply. You may want an Apple tech to do this for you if you can't do it properly.
