I have the 2010 mac mini model with the 8gb of ram I'm considering upgrading to the 2011 mac mini the model with the graphics card. I'm just not sure if it's worth it at the end of the day or just wait to see if there is a 2012 model released.

I think really the graphics and the i5 interests me the most but a really only use my mac for Internet and sometimes games on windows.

Also great forum too!

Not on the os side lion runs really well on it. I guess I feel it lacks on top end games. That's where I thought the newer model with the ati graphics would help.

I'm also wondering what the rumours are for the graphics in 2012's high end mini. I'm in no rush at all so I'll definitely be waiting but it's nice to have a rough idea.

Obviously things like an Ivy Bridge dual core are almost certain, but I know very little about the release dates for graphics cards.

You know something we don't know? All I know about the current 2.5 model is it has a dedicated GPU, but all the others have integrated GPU, so what is the scoop on the 2012 or rumor mill anyway?

HERE IS THE DEAL the 2011 dedicated gpu is mediocre at best.

the new mini integrated gpu will be the 4000 graphics

the 2012 dedicated gpu will be ?

the intel integrated 4000 graphics are a 60% improvement over the 3000 integrated graphics they have been given decent reviews on some test sites. this is big if you game. also the dedicated card will at least double in ram due to the much lower power draw of the new cpus. the 2011 minis were a huge improvement in cpu's it looks to me like the 2012 major improvement will be in gpu both dedicated and integrated.
