Hey

I've bought a mac mini i5 (2012) so the latest for replacing my Macbook Pro. I've putted my timemachine backup on it, so i have all my files.

The problems are:
- Sometimes when starting up, i'm able to see my wallpaper, and the apple icon left in my menu bar and my mouse wheel spinning. Nothing more. I need to force shutdown my computer.
- Sometimes when opening a program like Chrome, or my Mail sometimes, it totally freezes, and then responds sometimes. Then i need to try to force quite all my programs.

I have a CPU monitor and it doesn't get up that much.

Any idea's on these problems ? I bought this mac for because it's a bit faster so things wouldn't freeze up and that i wouldn't run into problems..

Thanks in advance!

Possibly RAM issues. Try reseating the RAM modules. Try them one at a time. If you upgraded the RAM, reinstall the original RAM modules.

Is this normal for a brand new Mac mini?? And how do i reset it ?

It seems like you get close to full start up. Try setting up another profile and see if you get the same problem. If you can fully login to the the new profile then the old profile or an app in it is likely corrupt. If you get the same problem with the new profile then you may have a larger OS issue or possibly hardware, in which case return it or ring apple care.

You could try setting up the new profile in safe boot. Hold down the shift key at the end of the start up chime. Release the shift key when you see the progress bar.

Oke, so I've done the swapping of my ram, also using only one ram. Futher no hardware faults.

From now on, all is going good. I hope things are solved now! Could the problem be that i've putted a timemachine backup on my mac mini ?
