I have just bought a BTO top of the line 2014 i7 mini with SSD installed.
AS I need more storage decided to try a Kioxia Exceria Plus G3 nvme drive 2TB model in the place of the apple one.
It works great on a chinese nvme adapter designed for this mini model.The picture is below.

The SSD has 730 MB/s in read and close to it in write which is impressive for the 2x PCI speed in the mini.
I'm really happy with how it turned out. Trim works automatically out of the box, sleep works, Monterey runs great.
In the upper bay i have installed an WD RED 2TB SATA SSD designed for NAS storage.
Haven't tried the higher os with OCLP yet.
Just wanted to let you know. it would probably be ok in 2015 MBP or Air 2015/17.
