Why's everyone getting thier collective pantaloons in an uproar?
PCs ARE DEAD. Sure, the iMac is the last vestige of it for a nice, stylish way to go out.
But a seperate CPU component to which a keyboard, trackpad & monitor are attached?!?
Back away from the desk, Pops ....

Sorry, but PC's are only just there for 7 years: the iPhone was the first PC.
PC= PERSONAL COMPUTER. A computer was never personal until the iPhone came to the world.
So PC's are NOT dead, they are in their infancy.
We are only fed up with our legacy IBM PC crap. Our kids don't know IBM PC. For them the phone is the PC.

The Mini/iMac are homecomputers or workstations, and there is a good market for those. They just need some clearer marketing.
They should be called workstation if the goal is "creating things", and maybe "home computer" if the goal is streaming TV shows, movies, playing games, stuff like that. Although in that role the PC will take over in a few years as well. Than every TV is a dumb screen with wireless HDMI showing the PC content from your pocket, watch or glasses.

As well they shouldn't!
And you know what I mean by "PC": a desktop computer.
PCs are dead, deceased. Bereft of life, they've joined the choir invisible!

OK, so you just got your new iPad (larger, more powerful iPhone without the phone bill). Now you are living in Steve's post-PC world, a member of the enlightened new paradigm. We get it.

So, the Mid2014 21.5" iMac is the recent dual core ULV one.

But a Mid2014 27" iMac with Haswell-refresh never happened, so that must be the Retina (supposedly 5120x2880) iMac referenced in Yosemite files.

Also, I wouldn't be particularly anal about what apple meant with "Mid Year" in the past. I can see them announcing it (Mini or iMac or both) in early September and still call it "Mid 2014". Then "Late 2014" Haswell-E Mac Pro in November and so on.

Fantastic - so you're ready to do full blown Final Cut Pro editing on an iPad with just your fingers? Great! How about programming - yeah, say 15000+ lines of code, again with just your fingers. How about several page essays?

Come on man... it's really obvious that PCs are not going anywhere. Look at Mac sales. Seriously. Tablets and Phones are nice media consumption devices and slowly but surely are becoming more useful, but as it is right now - PCs are here to stay.

75 million active Steam members (As in, came online at least once in the past week, and owns one game (That's not free to play, so this isn't counting tons of tf2 players), and this was announced in January of this year, increased by 10 million in 3 months!!) say hi.
