Hi everyone!
I just bought a Mac mini 2014 (1.4GHZ) with Yosemite pre-installed. I use that machine as an iTunes Library "server" for several Apple TV's.
Works fine so far, but after a while the Apple TV's won't find the iTunes Library anymore, obviously because the Mac mini is at sleep. Then I can't see the Mac mini any more from my MacBook Air for screen sharing (ATV's and MacBook Air wireless connected to Airport Time Capsule)
The Mac mini has no screen, keyboard and mouse and is connected to an Airport Time Capsule for time machine backup vie Ethernet. What obviously wakes up the Mac mini is an additional internal backup (CCC) as well as a backup from an iMac which backups to an external HD at the Mac mini (all hardwired). Then it does a time machine backup as well, which it doesn't when at sleep.
Settings in "Energy Saver" on the Mac mini:
- Turn display off after "15 min" (though there is no display connected)
(X) Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when display is off
(X) Put hard disks to sleep when possible
(X) Wake for network access
(X) Start up automatically after a power failure
(0) Enable Power Nap
I now (X) enabled the Power Nap as well, will see whether that makes a difference.
Anyway: any access from the network should wake up the Mac mini but does not
Any ideas?
Also: Are there any further settings when the Mac mini goes to sleep? E.g. there is the time slider for the display, but nothing similar for the computer itself?!?
Thanks heaps for any answers / suggestions / hints!
Holger
