I have a problem with my latest Mac Mini 2018. After the shutdown the display settings are lost and the icons and fonts are really large. The display attached is a 4k screen (DELL P2715Q) and I'm using a USB-C to Displayport mini adapter to convert the signal. Anyone else experiencing this?

Try reseting your NVRAM. This is where those settings are saved.

I have a similar issue with a 2014 Mac mini connected to a full HD monitor
I need to turn the display on only after Mac OS has completely booted
If I try to turn it on during boot while the apple logo is still showing, the screen settings are out of place and need to be adjusted in the settings menu each time
