Hey, considering buying a 2nd hand 7,1 Mac Mini. The description from the vendor is that it contains a 4278 processor. it then says it has 4Gb RAM / 500 SSD. From my research i can only see the 4278 only shipped with 8GB/1TB as minimum? What one is correct or was there another variant that i haven't found?

The serial number doesn't lie. Get that info then you can know for sure what that particular machine shipped with and if someone has modified it, or they don't understand the actual specs.

Thanks, yes i will certainly try. They insist its only 4gb/500SSD but i cant find evidence of that ever being a model. They are charging more for the processor hence my concern. Thanks again

I'm with you. I can't either, the only 7,1's that shipped with 4GB/500 were the base model, 1.4GHz i5. I have a dozen of these.

That RAM is soldered in, if it's 4GB, it's not the CPU they are claiming.

Personally they would have to show proof by serial number for me.

Hey, update on this and thanks again for your guidance. Asked to see the mac and check the serial number in the store today - it was indeed the base model and not the 4278U as advertised. They dropped the price by €100 but i wasn't interested. Cheers
