Mac Mini and 10.6.2 not able to empty trash

Hey Guys,

I have a Mac Mini Core Solo that I upgrade to a Core Duo and now I'm having a interesting issue wtih 10.6.2. When I try to empty trash it just seems to get stuck on preparing to empty trash and same thing when I try coping files out of a .dmg that has been mounted.

If I do it via terminal it works fine, but doing it via the UI always locks up my finder.

Thinking about doing a fresh install, since I did the upgrade from 10.5, thinking about just doing a fresh install of 10.6.2, does anyone has similar issues and know how to fix it?

Repair your permissions first. If that doesn't help, do a clean install

Download full version of Onyx for free right here from Apple. It does a few other system utility and maintenance tasks fairly well to.

*EDIT* I meant to ask just for curious s&g are you able to secure delete from trash without any issues or does this cause the finder lock up as well?

Ok thanks, I actually have it installed but I need to update since its the 10.5 version and not the 10.6.
