Hello there,

Wondering whether anyone can help with what seems like a relatively simple audio problem. I have a Mac mini 2GHz Intel Core 2 Due, and have just got hold of a pair Audioengine A2 active speakers. All connected up, via a headphone jack, when I try and play anything from iTunes the speakers don't make a squeak... But when I use an iPhone, using the same headphone jack, the speakers sound great.

What am I missing...

Regular headphones, by the way, work fine when plugged into the Mac mini.

Any help gratefully received.

Hi Marric,
I have the same speakers (+ Yamaha YST-SW015 sub-woofer) attached to my Mini 2.53GHz and I don't have (& never had) any probs with that set-up...
I have, also the bigger brothers (the A5) on my gaming PC & I had to change them because there was no sound coming out at all.
I then checked the boards & found that since they started to being popular a few years ago their quality went downhill & a bunch of users had to exchange their speakers 'cause there was something wrong.
But they have (had?) 30 day 'no questions asked' exchange policy, I think.
