Anyone got experience of using the Core Duo (1.66) Mac Mini with Aperture ?

I know it's in the list of supported platforms on the Aperture page on apple.com but would be interested in some real world opinions !

Thanks all.

Well, on my 2GHz MacBook it's barely useable for any serious work. It all has to do with the GPU really. The Mac Mini certainly won't do better.
You'll have better luck with Adobe Lightroom.

I'm using this exact machine and it's fine with Aperture. I boot from a MiniStack II with a 500 gb drive by firewire. Aperture renders my Canon 30D raw files in 2 to 3 seconds, and my 24" 2.13 gHz iMac C2D isn't all that much faster. If you're not doing digital photography for a living (i.e., dozens of images per day), the Mini will do just fine with Aperture. More on my setup here.

I agree with Cave Man, it's acceptable for all but pros and insane hobbyists. But LR is still faster.
