I just got back from Best Buy and I was really impressed with the video program provided in iLife.

How does the iLife apps perform with the Mac Mini? I'm thinking of getting the top mac mini (2GB memory, 160GB harddrive).

I currently have a Pentium D 3GHZ from Dell so would I be downgrading significantly?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, the Mac mini is a considerable upgrade from the Dell.
(Remember, GHz doesn't mean anything except within one line of processors.)

For example, on GeekBench scores:
Pentium D @ 3GHz: 1841
C2D @ 2GHz in Mac Mini: 2574

I started out with a Mac mini almost two years ago. I found it totally adequate for what I was doing... web surfing and using the iLife apps; mostly iWeb. The movie app worked very well also; I strongly suspect that you will be pleased.

Start saving your money because you will want move Mac love very very soon...

Enjoy the excitement of the wait and I hope you have a great Mac experience.
