So I have a Samsung T220HD monitor that I use mostly as a TV but occasionally i hook up my macbook pro to it for hulu and such. My problem is my older g4 mac mini doesnt seem to work with it over dvi-dvi. I also have a Samsung 226BW and the mini works perfectly with it dvi-dvi. When i hook up the monitor it constantly wakes up, and is just black, then goes back to sleep, then wakes up and goes back to sleep. Anybody have any ideas? I like to work using my 226BW and watch tv on the t220hd but it would be great to be able to run the mini into the t220hd so i can watch hulu while working on the other display. Thanks!

Try restarting the Mini while attached to the T220HD. I had a similar problem when I got my T220HD for my PowerBook G4, but once I restarted the machine, everything worked fine.

Ive tried many restarts, hard shutdowns, reset the PRAM, reset the PMU. problem persists. anything else?? Thanks!

i've exactly the same problem on a '09 mac mini on a tv, on mini dvi.
i've to switch off and on again the tv after each startup, becouse i've a black screen. Very annoying!

my 07 mini worked flawlessly for 2 years, very sorry to have already sold it on ebay.

if you read/hear something please write here,

thank you

Have you tried VGA? or even HDMI? It is possible that the Mac mini is sending a signal with a refresh rate greater than the TV can handle.

so ive got it working. just not with optimal resolution. i hooked up the mini to the display it always works with and cut the resolution down to 1280x1024. then hooked it up to the t220hd and it gave me a message that it was auto adjusting the resolution. ended up working. just at 1360x768 instead of the max of 1680x1050. works atleast. oh well..

cancel that. just changed the resolution back to 1680x1050 and now its working!! so i guess you just need to set it at a low resolution to begin with. then up the resolution once it is working.

I'm considering this T220HD monitor for use with Intel C2D MacMini, but there are so precious few mentions of people using this monitor with a mac at all, and then Samsung only offering windows drivers on the website is really putting me off.
Has anyone had any issues since they got this monitor working properly? Is it a good picture? (most of the reviews are as a TV/Games display)... I am tempted to buy it but...
