resolution is set @ 720p...so i hooked up my mini to my hdtv via HDMI but the fonts are hard to read. i mean they're still readable but hard for the eyes. i have my pc also hooked up via HDMI and fonts are perfectly clear and readable but not teh mini.

are there extra settings that i miss or somethin? videos and icons are perfectly clear except for the fonts.

OS X doesn't have resolution Independence, so you're pretty much stuck with what you got AFAIK.

well dat's lame...does OS X at least support dual monitor? was thinkin bout hookin up to a secondary monitor

Yeah, just go ahead and ignore this guy.

What you need to do is set the resolution to the native resolution of your TV. If you have a 1080p TV, you need to set it to 1080p. If your TV is 1366x768, you need to set it to that. That's why the fonts are blurry. It has absolutely nothing to do with resolution independence.

If the native resolution of your TV is 720p (1280x720), then the subpixels are not in the order Mac OS X is expecting them, causing the subpixel smoothing to be wrong. Again, this has nothing to do with resolution independence. I don't know how to tell OS X what order your subpixels are in.

Based on this thread:

It seems that you maybe only have the option to set it to anti-aliasing, which should improve the sharpness, but won't make it nearly as readable as with correct sub pixel antialiasing.
