Bought a Seagate external drive and configured it to back up with Time Machine. Its been doing backups since yesterday.

When I open Time Machine it shows the Desktop folder empty. All the other previous backup Desktop folders are empty too. I can't find the backups.

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

Do you have any files on your desktop - if the folder is empty then there is nothing to backup. Have you checked another folder?

I checked the drive and the backups are there, but the Time Machine app shows the default Desktop folder with no backup logs. In all the 'how to' articles I've seen, it shows the Desktop folder with the logs.

Hope I'm explaining this correctly.

When I use the Enter Time Machine option my desktop is blank unless I go back to a time when I had files on my desktop.

Can you provide a link to one of the articles you mentioned so I can attempt to understand what you are looking for.
