Hi all, first post here

A friend is looking to sell his base mac mini which he bought new in March since he isn't using it much.

It has apple care (through 2016), a monitor, and he only wants $500 bucks for it. I figure that the mini (600) + applecare (150) + monitor (100) for only $500 makes this a no-brainer.

However, these black screen issues I've read have me hesitating - are these over-blown?

I figure it can upgrade to 8 Gb or RAM and I'll have a nice home desktop, let me know your thoughts!

If his computer is working and you have applecare then I see no problem in getting it.

I've had my 2012 Mini since they were introduced last year and never encountered a black screen...and I run dual monitors, one HDMI to DVI and one mini-DP to HDMI.
