That's cause nobody cares. There's no software to play back BDs on OS X.
False. There is a way but it's not very simple. However, according to Cave Man, with some updates to MakeMKV and Plex, it could be press&play.

That is correct, but they left out the requirement for Make MKV. Still need it to play Blu-rays from the discs - the "files" are the m2ts containers (i.e., no menus). It will be interesting to see if the Mini can play them, though, because you need a pretty beefy cpu to decode the video and extract the 5.1 cores at the same time. My quad-core hackintosh handles it just fine, but not my 1.83 gHz MacBook Air. The MBA plays the file just fine with Plex so long as you extract those audio tracks in advance (i.e., rip to disk without the HD audio). So the newest Minis may be able to do it.
I assume that you can still rip from it though and that is what I am interested in. If I am in the living room I can pop the BR in my BR player but if I am in the bedrooms, kitchen or study I can use plex if I can get the BR onto the mini in the first place.
