I purchased a new Mac mini m2 , I also ordered a Dell S3221QS monitor. What is the best cable to use to connect the both of them to get the best picture out of the monitor ?

Thanks in advance.

There's several options.
The display comes in the box with an HDMI cable, so you could use that.
Or, the display has a displayport connection, so HDMI to DisplayPort cable would be good.
Or, get a USB-C to DisplayPort cable. (I would expect that would give you "best picture", but I don't have any proof of that, just my opinion.

If this was a gaming monitor there would be a definitive best cable, but since it's not you can use whatever you want. There's three "best" options.

  • You can use an HDMI to HDMI since the Mac Mini has an HDMI port on it
  • You can use a DisplayPort to HDMI
  • Or for whatever reason you don't wanna use the HDMI port, there's DisplayPort to USB-C options.
Though personal opinion, I'd just do an HDMI to HDMI. That's what I did back when I used a Mac Mini since it's just the simplest.
