Mac mini core i5 or i7 for Final Cut Pro X?

I am about to buy a bunch of mac minis for a high school where I teach film.
So I have to decide if we should buy the base Mac mini with 8GB extra ram or the Core i7 quad core version with 4GB ram. Both have the same graphics card as far as I can see.

We will be editing in Final Cut X and iMovie 2011.

Get the quad core version but upgrade the memory yourself. You can upgrade to 16GB memory for about 70 bucks.
