Mac Mini Daisychain with Thunderbolt

Has anyone contemplated daisychaining multiple Mac Minis using the thunderbolt cable to achieve more processing power. If this is available now, or will be available via software soon, you could inexpensively stack the minis and buy additional units as you see fit. Add to this an external PCIe video card and you would have a very powerful and flexible gaming machine.

Just a thought to discuss.

It's neither practical nor cost effective. Not to mention it would be a cumbersome setup if it did even work. For gaming you're better of buying an iMac, Mac Pro or a PC.

Unfortunately, the only way you could even do anything like this is with software that is specifically designed for it.

inexpensively stack the minis and buy TB cables which are $50 a pop and not to mention external gpu? isn't that like building your own highway just so you can get to work 20 minutes earlier bypassing traffic? even if this IS possible, its neither cost effective nor practical or even makes sense when you can spend $600 on a PC that can play 99% of games out there.

There is software that allows a program to split some of it's processing onto a paired computer, but it is only used for high intensity cpu stuff and only a very few programs even support it. It won't help with GPU processing - you would still be stuck with the mini's gpu.
