Ok, turns out I had some extra memory modules from my older PB, so I decided to pop them into my mini to see if they'd work.

Turns out that... they do!

The memory runs at a slower 533Mhz, however the system bus speed remains unchanged at 667Mhz. So far so good, guess these will tide me over for a while :)

I hate to say it, because I don't think it's a reliable program, but run XBench with and without the RAM to see if adding it is actually improving anything. It's unlikely but possible that it is actually hurting performance.

Urgh, I just closed the lid on the mini.

Well, Rosetta applications do feel faster, the system was really sluggish with 512 at times. I'll be just using these for the interrim while my new modules are shipping :)

I notice that you got lower scores in the memory tests than the PowerMac, which should have slower memory. This of course isn't necessarily because of the added memory, but you never know.
