Mac Mini Display Options

Hi All,

I have a 2010 Mac Mini and the HDMI port is taken to power the living room TV. I am currently using a really bad 19" display and would like to get something better with a budget of £250 - £350. Can anyone suggest anything and do any non apple monitors support mini display port?
 
All you need is Apple's $20 adapter and you can use any monitor that supports VGA or (preferably) DVI.
 
Also, Monoprice and others sell cheap MiniDisplayport->Displayport cables, so that's an input option as well.

Normally I'd recommend Dell's UltraSharp monitors (they have nice IPS panels like Apple's), but OS X's drivers aren't playing well with certain Macs at the moment. If IPS isn't important, I'd cruise Newegg and see which monitors have good ratings.
 
After checking out a few I'm digging the Asus monitors. I looked at a 20" and 23" that I think I'll be getting for a dual set up eventually. Only the 23" was in 1080p HD. Didn't bother me. Both looked great. LED screens on both. 20" was $99 and 23" was $130.

We have an Asus VE228H upstairs (21.5", 1080p) and it's perfectly fine for a standard TN-based monitor. Though if you plan on going dual-screen eventually, the off-angle quality limitations of regular TN panels can become more apparent. You can test this in the store by orienting yourself so the monitor is off to the side as it would be on your desk. If it still doesn't bother you, then you're good to go.

Thanks for the input. I was going to wall mount them both so I could easily change the viewing angle. Just wanted the 20" for standard internet/email use and programming, and the 23" for gaming and video/music editing.
 
So any monitor with VGA or DVI will work fine as long as I have the correct adaptor. Has anyone bought from a good retailer in the UK and can recommend a specific model?

I see that Newegg was mentioned but that isn't in the UK.
