I have my make set to "prevent sleep when display turns off" ( paraphrase ) and the display to turn off after 10 minutes. When I press the keyboard to wake it up, it takes as long to turn on as when I used to let it sleep. I haven't timed it yet, but it take much longer then my Macbook takes to wake up when I open the lid. And that computer *is* sleeping.

Any ideas on how I can decrease the time it takes for the display to turn on? My Power Saver settings are attached.

The computer is a Mac Mini 2.6Ghz i5 ( 2014 model) running MacOS 10.12.5

Some displays take a long time to wake up. Settings on the computer may not factor into it.

Thanks. The external display came up quickly when plugged in my Macbook Pro 2015 but was slow when connected to the Mac Mini 2014. I've replaced it with an iMac with doesn't have the display lag.
