Anyone know if this is possible with the mini having dual display ports ...will it allow me to connect dual 30" monitors running at 2560 x1600 ?

Thanks

You'll only be able to use one dual link output with the Mini-DisplayPort.

Your mileage may vary on if the dang thing will work.

I'm a little confused. Was this solved? My cousin wants to get a mac mini (trying to figure out if he should get a current generation or previous generation). He'd like a two monitor set up, would that be possible with the purchase of an adapter?

What are the resolutions of the monitors?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I do have a question.

I have (2) Dell 2209wa monitors with a native resolution of 1680x1050 - will a Mini be able to support these?

<crossing fingers>

Considering the above suggestion there's two video ports on the new Mac mini; one with the capabilities of supporting 2560 x 1600 and the other 1920x1200, in theory it would work. However, whether or not you'd wanna pay extra for the adapters, is another question entirely.

Perfect. Thanks. :D

I have a MDP to DVI (bought with my MBP) and it is my understanding the Mini comes with a DP to DVI - so I think I'm pretty good.

Now I just need to get Google Checkout to release my funds/payouts and I will have the money to purchase.

I'm probably going to suggest my cousin get two of the 24" Dell monitors that I have (2408wfp). I think it's 1920x1200. Is that right?
Those two monitors will be fine.

Dual 1920 x 1200 displays is going to be the best for the price. Apple's Dual Link adapter for the Mini-DisplayPort has been hit and miss. Not to mention it's expensive.

what accessory would I need to allow this (haven't decided yet if cousin should get current Mac Mini or previous generation Mac Mini)

The Mac mini comes with a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter already in the box.

An additional (~$29) Mini-DisplayPort to DVI adapter will be needed. Of course you could have just read that on the Mac mini's specifications page.

Thanks, I'll look to letting my cousin know about grabbing that accessory so that he can use two monitors w/ his mac mini. Maybe one day I'll add another monitor for use w/ my own 1.83ghz C2D mac mini. I am currently using a dell 2408wfp.

You might check Monoprice for that adapter first, they're like $10.00, but I haven't tested it yet. Mine's on order. :)
